Place your weekly order by Monday at midnight for Wednesday,
by Wednesday at midnight for Friday, for pickup or delivery.
It's the season of green growing things with new crops like lettuce and spinach becoming available and our annual plant sale, which is now open!
There are 3 dates from which to choose to pickup your plants or get them delivered, which you do in this box on our shop page. |
Many shoppers use all 3 pickup days to keep their gardening tasks manageable! Plants that tolerate cooler weather are available starting in the earliest cycle, while heat-lovers are available in the later cycles.
Food plants can also be paid for using SNAP benefits, and free delivery is included! |
The three nursery plant growers of the co-op are excited to collaborate in the co-op plant sale for their 5th year! Daybreak Dreamfarm, Buckwheat's Market Garden, and Bellaire Nursery & Farm.
Wait a minute, who is Bellaire Nursery & Farm?
Well, you already know this farm by another name, actually two other names...
One of the many benefits of being in a cooperative is that small farms are more able to change, evolve, or re-brand without losing customers. |
Back in 2015 when Lukas started farming in Bellaire he named the farm Grass Lake Organics. Did you know that Lake Bellaire was once named Grass Lake? No? Well, you're not alone, turns out that name was confusing to many folk familiar with the village Grass Lake downstate. So he pivoted slightly and went by the acronym GLO, which was all very well and good until a company in Kalkaska registered GLO as their name. Not wanting to be confused with someone else, he has officially re-branded to Bellaire Nursery & Farm. Hopefully more permanently of course 😉, but he is grateful that belonging to our co-op makes this switch less consequential for him now, and for others in the future, as we all evolve in the craft. For more information about Lukas and his farming journey (did you know he grew up farming in Hawaii?) visit www.bellairenursery.com
